On 25 November 2018, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the Project “Construction of Dumat Al Jandal 380kV BSP and Transmission line”
The project has been signed by Saudi based Company, Al-Babtain Contracting Company
The value of the project is 204.8 million Saudi Riyals (1$=3.75 SAR)
Earlier, during June 2018, a total of six bidders submitted their proposals. After technical and Commercial evaluation, SEC shortlisted the contractor.
Project Description:
This project has been created to interconnect the proposed renewable energy project (a wind farm) in Dawmat Al-Jandal area in North East Operating Area.
It is expected that 400 MW wind power shall be produced and injected into SEC transmission system.
This renewable energy project will be constructed by an “External Developer”.
This BSP include 380kV & 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), 502MVA Power Transformers, complete protection, metering, control, Communication and SCADA equipment.
The new Substation shall be equipped with Substation Automation System (SAS) and will be remotely controlled from the Energy Control Center (ECC), through SCADA system, communication System and gateway.
The monitoring Control and Protection system shall be IEC 61850 Standard based on Substation Automation System. The project should also include addition/modification of protection, control, communication and SCADA system at associated existing remote end substation ARAR & JOUF-2.
Project scope of work also involves design and construction of 380kV Overhead transmission line,
The Contractor shall perform on lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation and transmission line work and communication work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.
Contractor need to complete the project activities in 23 months.
